Go Canada!!
Is it really nine days since I last wrote on my blog?! The time is flying by! I am finding it very easy to fill in any free time.
Here’s the short version of life as a national cyclist:
I cycle pretty much every day-this week was recovery and though I wanted to get on the bike I realized that I needed a slight break….and I appreciated it! I was just asked to do something on April 25th and immediately looked at my cycle schedule-that’s a 100k day! Might be tired for the evening show?!
Cycling at this level is a science unlike any fitness I have done. Thank goodness for friends that understand numbers-really, measure water and sweat! Aerobicverse anearobic workout-monitor heart rate…come on REALLY. I just go at 100 miles and hour and where the heart rate goes it goes??!! Not in this sport….training is completely different here. The good news is I am quite fascinated with the whole process.
I continue to be impressed with “my hero’s”. They are the folks that keep coming out of nowhere to help raise money! “I will present a seminar, I will ask all my friends to join the pool, I will organize a concert, I will give gift baskets, I will be a volunteer and ask for donations”….on and on!
Thank you-everyone! my new favorite word.
Oh, we were told eat six meals a day-verse the usual three….I’m liking that! Snack snack-and my weight is still down. It will be challenging to eat enough as the miles increase! Yesterday, I burned about 500cal training.
Note: congratulations to all the rides and their accomplishments thus far!
